Is Unblock TV available as a separate Android app or do I have to buy their hardware? I recently bought a PIPO X8 to sit under my TV (excellent dual boot Windows 10 & Android 4.4 set top box btw) and I was hoping that would be the last Android box I'd have to buy for a while.

Live tv works but playback is flaky and you need to keep on changing dns

My understanding is that it is linked to the box. When it communicates with the server it knows your boxes serial number or MAC address and it will not run on unauthorised android boxes.

Yes interface in english and the app UBTV has an english version and a chinese version. There are 1000+ channels, including Sky Sports 1-5, BT Sports 1-2, Astro Sports, Jsports, so yes the premier league is there. But its not always as good as the maige and some channels just refuse to load which is very annoying.


But I found another way to watch premier league on the unblock box which may be better. Install the app TVMC and phoenix plugins, then they have lots of live sports there which are in crystal clear HD and no buffering. Being an android box, it allows you to install other plugins like this. I also like the Genesys plugin for watching TV shows and movies.


So two ways to watch premier league on the unblock TV box. 1) The official UBTV app. 2) Install the TVMC app and use phoenix plugin.


But guys just to be clear, I'm not saying this box is better than maige and dont get your hopes up that its a perfect solution. I'm just providing info on this box as an alternative and something that can tide you over until maige (hopefully) comes back online. At $700, in my mind is a cheap and worthy backup.

Thanks very much for your advice regarding the UnblockTV box, I went out and purchased one last night and have to say, I am pleasantly surprised just how good this little box of tricks is. It has so far, far exceeded my expectations. to be blunt, it shits on my Now TV !


after i set TVMC and got the Genisis TV app and went through the latest Movies list and sat down and watched Micheal Cains new movie, Youth. No buffering lag, awesome picture quality ( although I do upscale to 1080p via my Yamaha AV receiver which always makes video source look pin sharp / clean... But yeah, this box is AWESOME for its range of latest release movies, I am VERY happy for the the price paid ! what a bargain ! Totally shits on our NOW TV experience, and can now watch stuff that I actually enjoy watching ! YAY !

I just got the Unblock box.

It's basically having its own stock app, and allowing access to other paid apps like VST, HDP, Moli, etc.

For the UB app, afaik it has about 70 channels and majority are not working.
Most of the interface will turn back to Chinese, as those add on apps are mostly for China.

If you are looking for a lot of English/Japan/Korea content, keep out.
If you are looking for China channels, which most are still working, then it's okay.

Not all the TV apps inside are stable, only 60% works.


I'm still trying to find a stable app inside that can show the latest English drama VOD.
