    MyTV Feedback, anyone?

I see lots of people talking about UBTV here, and various other options - but no recent mentions of MyTV. Is it crap?

I'm planning to cut NowTV and looking at this as an alternative. Really I only need the basic package anyways (which for $780/year seems like a good deal)... and even if I get one more package @ $68/mo it still works out cheaper than NowTV which forces you to get two bundles and i'd be looking at $155 minimum with a two year contract.

However the lack of discussion about MyTV makes me wonder whether it's best avoided....

Follow up question: anyone knows if it would work off a 4G router?

Doesn't MyTV Super only have shit channels? Mostly free to air like TVB and Jade? Doesn't look attractive to non Cantonese speakers imho.

We cancelled our NowTV thing last year.
My (local) wife is using MyTVSuper. I asked her to show me just now, and frankly it's not great... She says it's in 4K resolution, I'm not sure in what universe it is, but to me it's more like 640x480. It's just ugly. Thankfully I'm spending only HKD38/month on this but I still think it's too much.
I myself opted for Netflix. I get good resolution, but the AI (that I can't turn off) that tells me what I want to watch next, and why I want to watch it, is insufferable. I'm going to cancel it as well and resort to good old ******* files. At least I'll be able to watch what I want.

    AI sucks, and f*ck it.

MyTV has lots of packages now, apparently: https://promo.mytvsuper.com/en/service-fee/price

BUT, it's true that by time i've applied for one package (such as BBC Pack) and in addition to the basic monthly fee, i'd only be paying $20 less for an inferior product (compared with NowTV).. so on second thoughts, might not be worth it unless i'm happy with the basic package only.

Thanks @jrkob for the feedback. Back to the drawing board then!

I suggest you wait for more people to comment before you proceed.
My wife is illegal TV box specialist, she suggests you get this one below, the white one right of her MyTVSuper.
I had a look just now. The resolution is much better than MyTv, the range of channels is extremely wide. HKD800 upfront fee, no monthly fee, obviously since is not legal so may be it doesn't work next month.
I provide this info "as is", I myself do not use it. Second hand info from the wife.

Update for the record (and in case someone searches):

Now using TVB's MyTV Super as it came bundled free with our new HGC internet line (including the Premium Baisc Pack, which includes BBC World). Subscription to BBC Pack is only $38/mo additional - which is less than NowTV's price.

My thoughts on the system: I can't watch 4K anyways, but otherwise channel quality is fine. It's definitely standard HD at least. Not a huge fan of the interface though.

Slightly miss my NowTV but I imagine i'd soon forget about it. If one doesn't care for movie channels, this is definitely a viable alternative.
