Kodi Update: tvOS (Apple TV) + Matrix v19 release

I had been using MrMC on the AppleTV which was a rather anaemic experience, so having Kodi with more options with be welcome.

Should be interesting to see how well this works with an NFS shared drive from a NAS.

That's how I've been using it for a while, except the it's on a Shield TV and the 'NAS' is a Pi4 with a USB drive - and sometimes I find SFTP works better for access than NFS.

My bad - this release of Kodi does support iOS and tvOS now, but is not coming to the official AppStore anytime soon, only to older jailbroken or side loaded AppleTVs and such.

Sorry to get people excited over nothing.

Well, it's better than nothing, still.

Just in case so you know guys, if you want to self host a server for movies, Jellyfin is a fully free and open source alternative to Kodi. No registration, no license, no tracking. Setup takes a bit more fiddling, specially to get hardware transcoding going, but otherwise works like a beauty. Super happy with its performance.

You can check a running demo from here:
