Can't get Now TV -- options?

So despite the sales person telling me it would be a problem I'm left with a very expensive internet connect through Netvigator and no TV as my building (elgin street) does not support it. this is despite the tenant before me having it. So now, I have no TV at all.... even plugging into the aerial gives me nothing as it seems the signal isnt strong enough.

does digital terrestrial exist here? Basically the only thing I want to BBC news.... so the cheapest / easiest way I can get that would be great.

    thanks

Huh? NowTV comes down the internet cable, not via the aerial - what am I missing?

Your internet can't be very expensive if it's not fast enough - even a 3MBit/s connection will do!

Are you sure that the person before you had NOWTV, not CableTV?

That sounds really odd. We can get it - on a boat down a really dodgy phone line which dies every couple of months when it gets wet/sunburnt!

I have the 3mb line.... it costs more then equiv. service in London (240hkd). Definitely been told by multiple people at NowTV that the building doesnt have right connection. Annoying.

Are there any other options? Literally BBC News is the only thing I need.... even thinking I might be able to stream it through my computer in the other room or something.

You're being seriously ripped off. I pay $189 for a 6MBit connection and I know that's not the best deal out there.

I suspect what they have is a capacity problem - your DSL port was reallocated to someone else when the last tenant moved out.

What's so special about BBC News? Al-Jazeera is better IMO (it's basically staffed by ex-BBC people) and that's a free channel with NOW TV or CableTV (though CableTV is going to cost you $216/month or so).

You can't get ADSL on the phone line?
