65 inch TV from US, work and $$?

We moved from US and bring with us a Toshiba 65 inch TV (1080p DLP rear projection). Here is a video I found on internet about using this TV:

official Toshiba website for this TV: Toshiba | ARCHIVED: 65HM167: 65” Diagonal 1080p DLP® TV

Since we moved here we mainly used it for play DVD and PS3 games. Now we have to move, and it did not fit into our new house, so I have to sell it.

    Two questions:

can it be used as a regular TV here in Hong Kong?
how much it worth now? we bought it ~1.5yrs ago.

    Appreciate any inputs!

To find out if it works in HK, have you tried plugging in the antenna and turning it on?

unlikely you can recieve either analog or terrestial tv as US tv's use NTSC and ATSC system, ( HK uses Pal and DMTB), but you can most likely plug in cable TV. please note you need a powerful (assume min 500 watt) step down transformer for power supply.

I took a look at the user manual and the TV only supports 60Hz signals, meaning it won't work here (not even with e.g. nowTV via the AV inputs) as HK uses 50Hz.

Being not usable and quite bulky compared to plasma/LCD I don't think it will be worth much.

I tried to connect to antenna, but it seem the size is wrong. We use PS3 to connect it for movies and games, they all work fine. Actually my kids told me it respond faster that our flat screen TV. What about format for PS3 or HK-bought DVD play? I knew very little about format and frequency.

HK dvd disc are usually region 3 or no region, buy a multi region dvd player to play all regions ( US is region1)!!

ps3 blu ray games have no region, but bluray films does

A HK-bought DVD player will work if you play NTSC DVDs but not PAL DVDs (both are sold in HK), unless the DVD player can convert to NTSC/60Hz.

Don't bother with the antenna connection, it won't work since HK uses a different broadcasting system than the US, as imparanoic already mentioned.

as mush as someone is willing to buy it for! it sounds like it is only useful for playback and can not be used for TV in Hong Kong (we had a DVD which was the same).
