If you use internet banking with HSBC there is an option in your settings or your control panels that allows you to choose "please don't send me anymore post" including statements. Youcannot turn this off for credit cards though as it is a different company.

Have you tried First Direct? No frills, no free mobile phones, no fees. Just courteous, accomodating staff that try to get things right, and who'll sort out any mistakes they do happen to make (very rare).
I used to have a First Direct credit card. They had a reward scheme, the more you spent the more points you got. I was saving the points as you could redeem them against flights booked with Thomas Cook and get 10% off. Seemed a good deal.

So booked my flights (to Hong Kong as it happened). When I went to pay I said I would like to redeem my points and get the 10% off. Nope, no can do. Told to read the small print, it said I had to mention this at the time of booking, not the time of payment.

Hmmm, ok so no joy there.

Next time I went to book a holiday, I got my quote from Thomas Cook said I would book and I would like to put my points towards the total cost. Ah, no can do. In order to redeem the points I had to book using a different phone number.

Called that number, said I wished to make a booking and use my points. No problem they told me. Except..... when they quoted me for the identical package the price was 15% higher. So it was cheaper to book using the original number and not redeem the points. Way to go First Direct.

I've spent some time trying to find this, but I can't - please could you give more directions on where to find this option on HSBC Internet Banking?
