DBS offer very competitive rates for new customers but after the first time then BEA is king. Currently have a wad with American Express bank who came up with a better deal than even BEA.

I find that in general the customer service of the banks in HK sucks. They are not unfriendly, but they never seem to know anything or to understand what I want. Hang Seng is the worth I have come across so far. ICBC the best, but haven't dealt much with them.

I've just bought a chunk of China Euro Bonds which are offering a yield of 4.2% at the moment (4.25% coupon).

Thanks! Which bank did you buy them from?
Who issued them? The Chinese government?

Yes - the Chinese Government. They are available through HSBC Online Banking.

Only one problem though for your case - the minimum investment is 60,000 Euros. I'm not sure who is imposing that limit. I guess a broker might be able to offer them in smaller chunks, but at some cost to the yield.
