Smile Moving to HK from UK

    Hi everyone..

I am due to move to HK in less than a months time for a new job. I am slightly confused which bank to go with? I rang HSBC and barclays but i feel that their min deposit is too high for me right now. will it be easier to open an account when i arrive in HK or try and open one in the UK.

I currently bank with Natwest but they dont seem to operate in HK.

Any suggestions would be much appreciated?

    :-)

I would open it in HK. No minimum deposit on a standard account is there?

Opening an account here with HSBC is quick and easy.

Just take your passport and proof of address in the UK for the time being. Probably a copy of your employment visa/contract too.

No minimum balance for a standard hsbc account but they will try and push their advance/premier on you which does have a minimum.
