    Asian bank interest rates

I knew they varied a bit but not this much! I suppose it depends on your appetite for risk.
Interesting comparison anyway. Nothing to do with me by the way, I'm just an average punter.

Right, now I'm off to Mongolia and Bangladesh.

Mongolia is definitely worth a closer look, as the currency devaluation was only 33% in the last 10 years against the USD.
But if you look at it from October 2008 to today there is also a devaluation of 26% in just 5 years. Still at this interest rate it returns almost 8% in USD value.

Bangladesh looks even better. I see a return on USD value of 9% in the last 5 years.

Now the questions are: How convertible are the currencies? Can foreigners open bank accounts? How much will you get should a bank go bankrupt?
