Charge his Octopus card with a Credit Card?

Is it possible to charge his Octopus card with a (foreign) credit card (European Master Card)?

Nope. Cash or auto value add cards from local credit card vendors. These are Octopus cards linked with a credit card account.

    No.

The OP is asking about charging (not necessarily auto charging) and I'm 99% sure regular charging up is doable.

It *may* be limited to Airport Express and Airport stations but I'm certain they accept foreign credit cards for purchases and topups.

Ok. I think that Octopus cards linked with a credit card account is only possible with Hong Kong bank credit card. Could you confirm?

Click on the link provided above by Clare to see the list of credit cards.

Needless to say, if this applies it is not for under 18.... But then no one is checking or bothered until he /she starts buying booze at 7-11

So if a tourist comes along and wants to buy a couple of fully charged octopus cards for himself and his wife, he is not allowed to use a credit card? That sounds illogical; I will make a point of double checking this next time I'm at the airport.

    Other than AAVS:

"In Hong Kong, you can conveniently top up your Octopus using cash and electronic fund transfer."

No mention of using CCs, other than AAVS.
