"Proof of remaining employment period in HK"

Has anyone been asked for this document, by HSBC?

Not sure what the "remaining employment" part means.

I am going to assume it is a standard employment letter.

Surely your "remaining employment" is only as long as the notice of termination period in the contract

But I am a PR and they're well aware of it... which is why I was a bit confused. I guess I'll send them an email asking them why they need this made up thing.

    Usual HSBC operations fuckery.

Turns out, despite having submitted my ID to them on several occasions, over 25 years, they obviously do not have a central "ID" database for their clients. I am not classified as a permanent resident. Might explain some randomness I have seen from them...

Am I going to go to their branch and beg to be classified as a permanent resident - no.
