My wife did it and it took her 22 days but my wife is from Hong Kong and I am a french expat with permanent residency ID card after living in HK 11 years.
I wonder if I would loose my permanent residency right if I close my MPF because I read on this webpage: Early Withdrawal of Benefits
(2) Permanent departure from Hong Kong. You must declare that you have departed or will depart from Hong Kong to reside elsewhere with no intention of returning for employment or to resettle in Hong Kong as a permanent resident, and provide proof satisfying the trustee that you are permitted to reside in a place outside Hong Kong.
it reads like I am loosing my permanent ID....
Will you kindly teach me how to withraw from singapore , how to make declaration in singapore
Hi!
I know it's an old thread, but I've left HK, and now considering to withdraw MPF. Any tips?
I got some info from here

It's harder to withdrawal your MPF from overseas for two reasons.
Firstly, you need to make a statutory declaration that you have left/will leave HK. This stat dec needs to be done in front or someone, witnessed. In HK is easy, if outside HK then maybe still possible, but needs to be notarized and probably also an apostille from your foreign government. This can be quite expensive.
Secondly, which MPF provider do you use and do you still have a HK bank account? Some MPF providers will deposit the funds electronically to your HK bank account. But some will only write you a cheque. If cheque, you need to ask a friend in HK to deposit the cheque to your account for you, or maybe you can ask your MPF provider if they mind to take it to the bank for you and deposit it to your XYZ account. Some MPF providers might do this if they are nice, otherwise will just tell you to piss off and do it yourself.
