    MPF Accounts Consolidation

Any experience how long HSBC takes to consolidate MPF accounts?

(From HSBC + AXA into one HSBC account)

If I'm not mistaken, the transferring firm who has your existing mpf needs 1 month to handle the admin works.

    That depends on whether...

    a) AXA fills in the correct form
    b) HSBC being a dick not wanting to release your funds because your signature was not 100% identical as on their record

Other than that, it'll probably take a month.

Which form? I thought it's me who fill the form and submit it to HSBC.

I don't need to withdraw/release my funds, what I want is to combine AXA & HSBC accounts into one HSBC account.

Yes, that should be the correct form. If you go to HSBC, they also have that form for you.

By the way, sometimes the fees are cheaper for a personal MPF account than your employer's account. You may want to look into that. If you want them both with the same provider, you may have to open a personal account first, then consolidate your funds into that account. You can also take the money from you employer's account and transfer it to your personal account once a year.

You can look at this pamphlet for the fee difference.

Yes, misread your original post, thought you wanted to transfer HSBC to AXA. HSBC has to submit the form in this case.

Thanks @civil_servant for the insight. And yes, my elected account for consolidation is a personal account.

Just done my early this year (from numerous accounts to HSBC). Hsbc will fill in the forms for you & all you need to do is remeber the other account details. They will call the other mpf Service providers and help you to get your details.

Btw you need to go visit a branch and make an appointment to complete the above process. Apparently there is only a few people in hsbc who handles Mpf. The HSBC lady rotates between branches. Let me know if you would like her contact
