is that possible from Hong Kong?
is that possible from Hong Kong?
If you are really loaded, then yes, everything is possible.
Otherwise, might be tough.
it's definitely possible. I've opened everything from a brokerage account to obtaining a home mortgage from the US while remote. You will need
a) US credit score
b) Evidence of existing financial holdings in the US (checking, savings, etc)
c) W2 and/or evidence of tax filings for several years (3 years is standard)
A US citizenship and address of course wouldn't hurt.
HSBC international?
btw, which US bank are you looking at? i just called yesterday goldman sachs marcus and all it took was like 5 minutes to open an account. they currently have the highest savings rates. anyone using marcus? what you think of their service?
probably don't tell them your name is "john doe" as it's kinda a red flag.
Opening a savings account is pretty easy. Credit card might be impossible unless you have a social security number and a credit score.
