Bank account opening with permanent ID

    Hi,

Does anyone know if I open an account with a permanent ID, the automatic exchange of information between HK and my county will still be applied (I am not from the US)

    Thx.

Yes, they still do ask you for nationality.

With HSBC over the last few months, was asked for Indian "tax / id number" and passport copies as I am an Indian national.

Don't know if they do this for everyone, or obvious foreigners or brown people.

Have a GeoExpat related problem - please create a support ticket.

Depends on which bank. But I'm sure the data is still shared when it's needed.
