USD transfers within HK?

I want to transfer USD from my HSBC account to my Citibank account. Will I get charged for this?

I have transfered from Citi to HSBC. No charges from both sides.

It’s a local transfer and thus free (at least with HSBC)
One of the things I don’t like about SCB as they don’t allow local transfer of foreign currency.

We did HSBC to SCB with no fees some time ago - it was part of a "special deal" for "new time deposit" deal. On unwinding the transaction we wrote cheques to get the money back.

HSBC can easily transfer out USD and no fees. Some receiving banks charge hk$15 for incoming transfers.

Yes, afaik SCB considers that an overseas transfer, which is more costly. Not sure whether the funds atually do go overseas and an intermediary bank fee is also charged

Would be surprised if the funds went through an intermediate or overseas. HK clears USD locally..

I think it is just the online banking setup, you have to go to the overseas section to transfer. I had this happen with Hang Seng, although it was a local transfer and no charge.
