    Domestic helper medical insurance

As I understand it, medical insurance for domestic helpers is required by law. What insurance provider do you use/recommend and how much is it?

Most of the usual insurance providers will offer this. Prudential, AIA, all the banks. You can just get instant quotes off the internet. Couple of thousand for 2 years for the higher levels of coverage.

Can't recommend anything specific though as we've not made a claim before.

We've never claimed either. We have this one with the Serious Disease Extension

I went with a broker. The one suggested here by others. CCW I think.

Do these generally offer regular checkups, or mostly just for emergency treatment?

The one I got through CCW also includes doctor visits through network and something like 3 days worth of medication.

Thanks. How much does that cost (I'm sure it's based on individual assessment but just looking for a ballpark)?

Generally, you are looking at up to HKD $800 per annum for full benefits. This may includes liability, hospitalization, surgery, repatriate expense, etc.
The cheapest plan for example, may just cover employee's compensation and nothing else for a fraction of the above premium
