Changing Credit Card Payment Date - HSBC Rant

This is well and truly a special bank.

They refuse to change the payment date / payment cycle of my credit cards. Anyone else had any luck on this front? Not had this problem with any other credit card company.

Also in other news I'm trying to increase the credit limit of one of my cards (presently set at something stupidly small). They have told me to fax (yes, fax) in the necessary proof forms. I cannot do it any other way.

Lol, thanks. I called up and they refused. Did you do it through your RM or through the CC centre?

I'm also trying to change autopay instruction and they insist payment has to be made through HSBC and not another bank.

I suspect Noel Quinn has fax-elimination it on his list of things to achieve in the next 5 year digital innovation plan. But I suspect it will be tied into some random send by SMS thing.

    (Thanks for the laugh...)

HSBC and most other local banks should develop a drug for its customers to use when dealing with their customer service

I am really curious.. since banks are still so fixated on faxes..
is these faxes anti hacking ? i.e. are the lines so secured that they will never be hijacked ?

I have always suspected there is some antiquated rule somewhere which has not been updated to cover digital signatures / crypto signing etc....

its funny.. for banks, each time you send an email with attachment, you are suppose to encrypted it with password and this and that... yet they happily accepts fax transmission with no other securities..

For HSBC credit card to be on autopay through another bank fill in the "Autopay Instruction Setup Form (for Setup Monthly Payment to Credit Card)" form found on this website:
    https://www.hsbc.com.hk/credit-cards/forms/

Just curious, why would you change the payment due date of your CC? Never thought of doing that or it ever being allowed. Guess I just never paid attention to the due dates of my CC.
