    Probably will depend on the intermediary bank and the fees it charges.

    There used to be a way in IB to trace the transfer and see if any fees were attributed to it, not sure if that is still possible.

    I don't understand why everyone don't open Citibank account in HK.
    Citibank is far superior to HSBC without any fees.
    It was like the first thing I did in HK to open a Citibank transaction account.

    Thank you to all of you for your input, really appreciated! HSBC customer service is pretty useless with their generic answers, but I'll keep trying. I just want to give something transparent for others to refer to as I think it's getting to a good time for us expats to start exchanging and few things annoy me more than hidden bank charges, which I've been screwed over by many times
