    Closing HSBC accounts from abroad

Hi all, we left HK 5 years ago and kept open a hsbc transaction account and credit card, both with zero balance. Is it possible to close these over the phone? I'll give them a call on Monday but wondering how easy it is to do so? Thanks

You can post them an account closure letter. Just make sure that the signature matches.

However, getting anything done over the phone (unless the branch manager knows you by name) is impossible. So it'll be a wasted international call.
