    Visa Infinite — requirements?

    Hi all,

I currently have AMEX Platinum, which USED TO have concierge service. Although many criticized its usefulness online, I quite liked it. They provided live translation when I was in a situation that I must communicate in Cantonese, help looked for plumbers that do not charge English premium (aka gwailo premium), etc.

I was happy to pay annual fee of 7800 (which they now raised to 9500), but they removed concierge service and raised annual fee.

I spend around 100k hkd per month on average (mostly online) so don’t think meeting spending requirement is a problem.

I mostly use it in AMEX or HSBC Visa (which does not have Infinite as per my knowledge), but willing to swap to other bank cards if they offer me infinite with concierge.

Does anyone know the requirements for visa infinite?

    thanks

Visa infinite requirements depends on the bank.

Its concierge is pretty poor though.

Understand HSBC Jade concierge is OK if you like that sort of stuff.

The concierge with the Citi Prestige card wasn't too bad, but the price of the card has gone up with benefits coming down over the years.

Being rebranded as Premier Elite ... I think they cancelled their lifestyle concierge service and I suspect will rebrand their RMs as Wealth Concierges...

Just scrolled through my folder of forgotton unused HK credit cards, yes I have a Standard Chartered Visa Infinite. Expires March 2024. Completely forgot I had it.

Its pretty useless as far as I know. Even the points they give for basic spending on the card not as good as other more simple cards. Now I just remember they sent me a letter a few month ago that they took away my 8 free airport lounge visits per year because I didnt maintain a required relationship balance in the 2nd last to 4th last completed calendar months of the current card membership year. I have no fucking clue what they are talking about, back in the forgotton folder it goes.

Set an alarm for March 2024 to cancel it. Oh wait, I think I cant cancel it because I used the credit limit on this card to get a tax loan for 4 years and there is still a few years left to pay it off.

Am I the only one wondering how one spends $100k online a month and doesn't have some sort of finical advisor who would sort this kinda thing?

If you run a business and use your credit card for purchases and services it is a small amount .. back in the day, every US distributor of ours accepted amex and so do Google, Amazon etc for hosting services, advertising etc

100K HK is not a large amount for business expenses even for an small biz.

As shri suspected (!), I do use it for my small side business purchases. Depends on the month, I use 50k - 150k...

We had a private pilot friend who would put the "gas & maintenance bill" on his card and got reimbursed ... phenomenal amounts.
