Hey guys, does this extra 1% charge also apply for the Standard Chartered Simply Cash card?
I was charged HKD by MyTheresa, and was overcharged by exactly 1% of the actual value of purchase.

Just got caught out on this yesterday with Vietjet and booking with Mox. Got charged a 1.95% "cross border access fee" with Mox (did get 2% cashback in return, but still.
Going forward I think if I'm not sure, the charge is going to my SCB Smart card, even if I don't get any cashback.
Exactly, I feel like there are a lot of people that dont really understand this charge very well, if you are with HSBC its something you have never experienced before but HSBC will start charging from November. Expect more people to suddenly wake up and start complaining then
Sorry just coming back to this. For HSBC the 1% foreign charge won't apply to debit cards right? Can you use the HSBC debit card with things like Uber?
Does HSB MMPower have this charge? My reading of the terms suggests now, but someone cleverer than me would be able to confirm.
Forget it, answered my own question, HSB also moving to this from November:
