    Unlimited Credit in HK??

I have applied for quite a few credit cards and I never really cared about the credit limit, but I started noticing that most banks are giving me 150-250k credit limit per card, some from the same bank (ie exposing themselves to 300-500k easily, some even more).

Are banks in HK that confident? Especially considering how easy it is for HKers to emigrate now?

I applied for a credit card overseas (EU) and I got a credit limit equal to less than 5% of my savings with that single bank, even though I practically transfer an equal amount every month or two to that exact bank.

For another bank in EU (different country though), they flat out rejected me, and only after I complained they gave me a low credit credit card (three digit Euro).. I have a low five digit Euro fund with them plus scraps of savings,

It depends on your credit history. If you've been here for decades and have always paid your bill in full each month then yes you can get a significant credit limit (I I think I have a couple of million in total, but it's never been an issue, so I've never bothered to check). HSBC and Citibank these days (I can't speak to others) give a total credit limit that can be moved around between the cards that they issue (at least for lower level customers). It's not unlimited.

Lenders can see how much of your credit facilities you are utilising with other lenders through TransUnion (and other data aggregators) and adjust your credit limit as they see fit.
