    OK, I guess you won't be persuaded on this. But Mrs Lam and I make an average of something around 5% cash back on our annual credit card expenditure of about HK$600,000, mainly with HSBC. We don't pay any card fees.

    If you like games, HSBC is the ticket. Enjoy the game, but don't forget who can change the rules whenever they like. I do think that HSBC stock might not be a bad pick, if you can get it for a decent price, as the HK government directly and indirectly subsidizes their envious profits in many ways. I also believe in the great and almighty power of inertia, so I expect such subsidization to continue into the foreseeable future with few being wiser or caring.
