    I think you might want to question your premise about getting a visa being hard. If you have money to invest you can try an investment visa; if you have skills then QMAS. If you register a company and can employ others (including locals) then it might be able to sponsor you eventually (probably not straight away). My understanding is that tax rates in China are higher than HK, so not sure why you'd want to live there. Do you have a visa to live in China or residency rights?

    If most of the work are carried out in PRC, there may be an issue of Permanent Establish. The PRC tax authority may deems all the profit be subject to PRC tax as all the business activities carried out in PRC. However, in reality, the PRC authority may not be able to catch you.

    Well, nobody has asked where you will perform a business or what kind of business it's. If is advisory or web apps or programing or export/import (B2B). Your tax report will be done in HK.
