    .hk domain and email hosting

    Hey all,

Have searched a bit but all previous posts are pretty old... Looking for the best-priced site to register a .hk domain. I would also like to set up an email account linked to this domain i.e. [email protected]. How do I go about this?

    Thanks!!

They seem to be expensive. US$29/y is the cheapest I saw within 30 Seconds.

I bought my domain name .asia through go daddy and was then able to set up an email address using gmail linking to my website. It was very easy and painless and I now have a site that is hosted using tumblr and an email address [email protected]. that is managed using google. You can buy .hk domain names using go daddy. Hope this helps, if you want more info., let me know.

I was under the impression for HK taxation purposes, you can only purchase/use a .com.hk domain name providing you, or your employer, own a valid company in HKG. ie a copy of your LTD business registration certificate and a copy of your certificate of incorporation ( company number ) submitted during the application/registration of the domain name to the HKIRC ?

That is exactly correct for ".com.hk" names, but not for ".hk" names (without the com). Its easy for anyone to get a .hk name.

This is true but irrelevant to the OP's question.

To answer the OP's question, you can buy names for 1.2,3 or 5 years at www.hkdnr.hk with prices around $200 per year. But note you will still need a DNS service on top of that from another provider (there are free ones for example I use one called freedns.afraid.org which works beautifully for me for many years).
