    @howard, thanks for clarifying that. I think I get what you're trying say. You can set up a company anywhere, but that doesn't mean you can legally work in that country.

    I guess I'm just confused about the difference between a person working and a company issuing an invoice. To me it feels like the same thing but of course legally its not.

    I don't really understand how I can set up a company in HK, them invoice from that company but be working in the UK. If I want to get at the cash the end result is the same.

    I get that for big companies there are loads of advantages but for my situation not sure it helps?

    Regardless I'm not sure how that solves my issue.

    Where you bill from and where you reside makes a huge difference in calculating taxes. You may get the cash, but it may be higher or lower depending on how you set things up.
