starting a business based in HongKong

Have any expats here started a business based out of Hong Kong recently?

If so, how did you do it and what hurdles did you face?.
Registration, Visas, Trademark law etc. I'm really interested to find out!

Yes, with four local partners, I have started our business here. Check your private messages for some details.

edit: actually I've got no private messages mate.

just found these threads: http://www.geoexpat.com/forum/thread18603.html - quite useful http://www.geoexpat.com/forum/thread3403.html - which lead me to Invest HK

I think that last link is the most useful for now. Is the process really this simple?

Registering the business is as simple as it looks.

Getting the appropriate work or investment visas is more work than registering a company which is very simple.

I can tell you from personal experience that they read everything submitted as I had to send a few missing pieces of information that were not included in my original filing that had more detail and background than they asked for but missed a point on the check list and they wrote and gave me a month to complete that part.

Andy... sorry for that. I mean to PM this but I got some phone calls and didn't post this to the PM at that time. You got mail now.
