I'm currently working as a teacher here in HK and hold an employment visa. I would like to start a summer camp this summer with a partner (he has a dependent visa, so no issues for him). This would be during the school holidays when I do not do any work, however I am still under contract (and getting paid monthly) until the end of August. Ideally I'd like to continue working at my current school.
Now here comes the tricky part... I understand that it's possible to have 2 jobs with approval of the current employer as well as immigration. I actually work for an agency, and I'm not sure that the agency would be willing to sign off on my plan if they knew I was starting a summer camp. How much information do I need to divulge to my current employer about my business plan? And would immigration be likely to grant approval?
Or should I quit a few months early (and lose the easy $$$)? Could I quit, get an employment visa for my business, and negotiate a deal with the agency to somehow work at my current job whilst they pay my salary into the new business? Is there anywhere I can go to look for more information about this?
