Registering company, in charge of my own pay packet!

I am registering a business that will act as a consulting arm to the main business (based in Australia), but will be a completely separate company. Will be working from home and utilising as much of my own resources as possible, so was just wondering if anyone here had any experience in doing this, and what might be the best way to position your own salary package to reduce the tax you are paying?

Am just curious to know if someone has already sifted through the benefits of a lower salary, housing allowance and monthly dividends....
