    Thanks! I ate the $2200 yesterday and was perplexed at how high the fee was. This'll help.

    Now to figure out if Airwallex is viable over opening something with HSBC.

    I am not 100% certain if you can still apply for the exemption despite having paid the $2200 already. It might worth going there again and ask them. Read: When to apply!

    As for Airwallex, best to visit their office in person in Quarry Bay and ask them specifically face-to-face.

    For future reference, if you're registered for e-tax (and if not, why not?) then it is trivial to apply for the exemption each year.
