I'd like to buy some stocks that will become public on HK stock exchange very soon.
Any ideas on easiest and cheapest way to do this?
Will E-Trade allow you to do this...or only NYSE on E-Trade?

i just got off phone with etrade....
...although the website offers a "global trading account" to trade stocks with 6 different countries (HK being one of them), I can not do this until later next year.
so....any other ideas on how to buy stocks on HK market as an american living in HK?
i called SHK and they are willing to open an account for US citizen....but they said they will not report anything to US government...
is that good or bad?
what do i need to know in this case?
for HK IPOs you would well with a local stock account. you can get a hsbc/citi/stanchart trading account easy if you're US resident here. IPO services like leveraged finance available (and in strong demand....) plus e-applications. E-trade may offer that i dont know.
