What is the minimum for HSBC shares? ie. minimum lots?
So do different stocks have different minimum lots?
Anyway, u reckon it's worth a buy now? HSBC ie..
Yes - there are hugely different lot sizes for different stocks.
And yes I think HSBC is a good long term buy around now. The P/E is close to 9, and the dividend yield is close to 6%. I have an order in the queue at the moment (at 118.3) to buy 4 more board lots.
You can look up a stock here:
Stock Quote - HSBC HK
0005 is for HSBC, and you can clearly see Lot Size = 400. To find out the minimum lot for other stocks, simply look them up.
0005.hk is good for long term at 118. Even with the problems in its US operations, Asia is just too strong (arab gulf states, HK, China...) and expect profits.
You missed the best time to buy, however. In January it was at 105 at one point so I bought some. With in 10 days it was back up to 120, and I couldn't resist to not sell. I think it might hit 115 again within 1 or 2 weeks then Ill buy them again.
The HK stock market is purely emotional. If NYSE drops then most stocks on HKSE will drop, regardless of what the stocks are really worth. Hence the volatility.
Yep, I definitly missed out with the 105 price. you made the right decision.
Thanks for the info guys.
