    Easy (if you have money) :

    Invest in whatever you think has reached the bottom (be it in housing, stockmarket, currency markets, etc.)

    How would you know for sure if any of the above mentioned asset class has bottomed out? So many funds have been burnt for 'buying distressed debt because they think prices have bottomed'.

    You can't really know for sure, but there are definitely bargains out there. If you plan to buy and sell in the same week/month then i wouldn't risk it, but for medium to long term keeping you can really find some value. Warren Buffet, the ultimate bargain hunter, springs to my mind.

    As we're expecting a slowdown in our business, I'm exploring what else we can do to generate revenue.

    Noted re: all the suggestions on investing in bargain assets and waiting for long-term capital appreciation - I'm certainly going to do that. But in the meantime, I'm looking for ideas to generate immediate revenue to cover my overheads and remain profitable...
