    My solicitors who are handling the building of my village house know there stuff.

    It's worth getting proper legal advice, as 'really old village house' might be on a Government Land Licence (GLL) rather than being a village house under the Small House Policy (SHP). A GLL is not legally transferrable, although this does not stop them from being 'sold'. Buying one does not necessarily give you any rights....

    MrRotavator - Did some research on what you mentioned. It does sound a lot like GLL. Thanks for letting me know such licensing laws existed.
