The whole WCCD is a bit of an omnishambles.
Hong Kong desperately needs lots of small privately run and perennially struggling independent theatres.
Why the Government believes it must build and operate arts venues is unfathomable. It should choose a busy commercial district known for it's art and entertainment and force developers when they build developments to add new 200-300 seat theatres in the bowels of the buildings and to rent them out at cost only rather than just shopping malls and car parkig. If they comply land premiums can be lowered.
This would start to create a theatre district to allow creative expression pushing the boundaries of society and politics with edgy plays and performances.
