Where to buy Vanguard ETFs through monthly saving plan?

    Yeah other than 2800 I don't see many ETFs in HK worth owning. Even in the case of 2800 I sort of prefer to hold the underlyings and keep the 0.1% management fee in my pocket.

    Over the past few days I dissected the financials of 3140.

    I want to check on the numbers before posting further, but I believe we were both right and both wrong about the WHT.

    I think I was wrong to say that HK ETFs buying into US stocks are tax free.

    Based on looking at their financial report? So I guess their benchmark includes an assumption of 30% withholding tax on dividends? I've seen similar things before, a 'net' total return index that assumes treaty tax rates for dividends.

    Well the pamphlet you linked the other day on the sub-index didn't mention anything about seizing WHT. Not that I saw at least. I want to double check a few more things. Their financials are silent on a couple of things.
