Sale of shares - no longer resident

    Hi,

I have a modest number of TraHK and MTRC shares from years ago. I have long since left HK and no longer have residency or banking facilities and most companies in the UK no longer seem to trade individual international equity holdings. Does anyone have an idea how I can sell these shares?

    regards

How do you hold the shares?

I have old fashioned certificates (these are from the '90's)

Thank you. It is a useful link but compared to the content therein my position is somewhat complicated by not being resident. I guess the question is "can HK shares be disposed of by a non-resident without an existing brokerage account". From my research so far I'd say the answer is no, but if anyone knows different do let me know.

I am no longer resident hence a different situation to the thread above,

There are several UK based brokers which will trade shares listed on the HKSE. Interactive Brokers and Charles Stanley to name a few. You need to lodge the original share certificate with the broker (for a cost) and then you can sell the shares.
