    Asia Bankers Club

Any other members on this forum, anyone ended up buying property through them? Have been to a few of their seminars to get info, they seem to be potentially a decent conduit for buying apartments in Vietnam but interested in other people's experiences, if any.

i knew that guy that set up that company for more than 15 years.. but don't ask me if its that good a conduit now...
i am really curious if there are really that many people that made money in vietnam property or malaysia property, as contrast to those that are now revising their investment horizon and target from speculative to long term retirement

Malaysia is a nice country for retirement and so Malaysian properties will be good for 'living in'. I cannot say the same about 'investment' because there is an abundance..

I'd be surprised if anyone made money from KUL property. Vietnam is an interesting story though...

Ownership Certificates can be problematic for Foreigners, as they cannot own properties in areas that are reserved to protect National Defense and Security.

In addition, out of 180 countries, Vietnam ranked 96. Whoever is making money is sure to be corrupt....

In countries where corruption is rife, are you sure you're well protected?

If you have a Vietnamese partner then it may be a suitable investment.

If the rental yield is high, then that could be a good indicator as an investment.....but remember High Yield = High Risk

Is downtown Hanoi or Saigon a national defence zone?

Think you can't buy downtown in Hanoi as a foreigner? The developments you can buy tend to be out of town apartment blocks
