    Problems accessing HSBC online services (July 6th)?

    I am unable to log into my account via either the regular banking app, the easy invest app, or via the browser on my desktop. On the desktop it won't even take me to the page to enter my details, it says the server IP address cannot be found, on the app I can enter my password/finger print but then get an error message telling me there is no internet connection (everything else is working fine though).

    Looks like they’re having an outage. They claim it is “system upgrade and maintenance” but its hard to imagine that even HSBC’s degree of incompetence would lead them to schedule IT maintenance for a Monday morning.

    I am betting it is their 2M customer base all logging in at the same time to check their $10K handout status.

    Yeah, a friend just suggested likewise.

    Don't fully understand the logic (behind wanting to check being such a universal phenomenon that it's caused a system crash) if I'm honest.

    There was some random PR over the weekend saying that the cash is arriving earlier or something like that.

    Even I'd read that over the weekend and told the kid / wife - might want to login and see if your cash has arrived.

    From HSBC's website:

    "Due to high traffic volume, some customers may experience slow response / intermittent service connection issues when accessing mobile or internet banking services. Sorry for the inconvenience, we'll be back up and running as soon as possible."

    Try clearing cash and cookies. My mpf login regularly buggers up after they has an offline period.
