    Purchased US MLP Stocks

I recently bought some US Master Limited Partnership stocks; I was tempted by its distribution returns.

Apparently I didn't do enough homework and jumped in too fast.
Turns out purchasing MLPs require filling in tax returns (K-1), but how does it work with foreign investors?

I bought my MLPs via eTrade.
I tried asking Citibank HK, and to my surprise, they don't allow purchasing MLPs.

Anyone has any experience in this? Was hoping someone could simplify it for me.

    Thanks

I suggest you get a tax advisor to advise you on the tax liabilities. there are reasons why many private banks refuse to let client purchase MLP (in their role as a stock broker)... i read it in my last job but i don't think its conclusive.. so better off individually check what are your liabilities...
