What happens to my IB account when I leave HK permanently to Thailand or any other country and no longer living in HK?
How can I keep it open to invest/trade from outside HK?
If not, can you recommend any alternative brokers for non-residents?

I notified them of my change of address to Malaysia 18 months ago, and continued as normal.
I went through this procedure with IB a few years ago. It depends on what you consider your country of residence. If your country of residence remains unchanged you can change your mail address to another country. If you change your country of residence then it might be that IB needs to transfer your account to another subsidiary (which is what happened to me). They will open a new account at the appropriate subsidiary and can then transfer your open positions from one account to the other. This procedure involves manual activities which need to be done by IB, so you'll need to contact them about this.
In your example (going from HK to Thailand) I think that they will open an account at IB USA, transfer your positions to this new account and then close your IB HK account. Make sure that you download all relevant (financial) reports and documentation before they close your account as you will lose access to it.
