Evergrande is finished. Any "restructuring" or "ownership changes" cannot hide the fact Evergrande as a property developer is done. Whatever entity that remains coming out of this is not going to be the current Evergrande. Only question is whether its demise will cause a large disruptive wave or just a small ripple.

HSI at 23,000 seems like the support level but that is absolutely as fragile as anything.
I wouldn't touch the markets at the moment until we get a string of positive news.

Venezuela and Colombia are doing worse year to date so that is some conciliation.

A company that actually makes something tangible. Old-school, indeed.

Been reading about payroll that's due before CNY in a couple of different places. This one will either sort itself out or blow up before CNY... Billions are due to workers.

Nomura analysts pointed out another looming repayment deadline for Chinese real estate developers is deferred wages for construction workers, which are due before the Lunar New Year, which kicks off on Jan. 31.

I think we all know the real reasons even if they can't publicly say it at this moment.
