HSBC Broking - UK / Australia Shares...

Looks like HSBC's push to digitize and upgrade its businesses is finally moving HSBC Broking into 2010 or something like that..

They now offer UK / Australia shares, in addition to HK and US shares through their Broking subsidiary at a mildly exorbitant fee, through their HSBC Broking app (you needed to place phone orders as of late last year...)

Also, it is not a part of their retail arm ... so your BP and BT fortunes will not account towards your Premier balance.

They do offer some cash back, so it might not be too bad of an option if you just want to buy some ETFs and keep them in cold storage for a bit.

0.8% of transaction amount for US securities - is that really for "online trade"? I think it used to be 1% for phone orders.

Shameless - particularly when US brokers charging nuthing.

There might a fax machine involved somewhere in the online trade.
