Calculate property value based on "Rateable Value"

Is there a way to calculate/estimate property value based on Rateable Value? I need to get the so-called market value of a village house to determine the stamp duty for a family to family sale. Thanks to anyone with info on this.

I can't seem to find what I'm looking for there.

I have the rateable value, and would like to calculate the market value...

The rateable value is the estimated market rent. It's not based on the property value. Go to a bank and pretend you need a mortgage, they'll give you an estimate.

    Thanks for the reply.

I've already been to the bank - the problem is that their valuations varied wildly. At the end of the day I need to know how the government will determine the value, and I assumed there might be a way to do this based on the rateable value.

Enter different property values till you hit what rates you are paying.

Market will be what the next buyer will pay.

Valuation take 3 bank average? DBS, BOC & HSBC?

Take the lowest value so you'll pay the least amount. If the government claims a different value, show them the valuation.
