    Australian Properties

I need abit of help here, I am seeking good ethical Asian companies/individuals to sell my house and land product located in Australia. The problem is I only want to be directed to good ethical organisations and need a hand in finding them. Who do I need to talk to? Any ideas would be gratefully recieved. Kind Regards kiwi

Confused here. You want an asian company based in Australia? Or somebody based in Asia? If the former - why? If the latter, how will they sell it?

I'd just go for an Australian real estate agent and deal with them by phone/fax/internet - they are best placed to carry out the transaction.

For ethical - I know there is one group that refuses to use auctions because they believe this is bad for sellers and I think they have other ethical views too. Struggle to remember their name - but they really pissed off the other agents in Australia so you might find them with abit of googling. I know "Tommy's" (from NZ) were an affiliated type of firm so might find a link on there.

EDIT: Actually it was pretty fast to find .. top hit on google (and these are the people, I recognised the name when it came up).

You should be dealing directly with an Australian company, not anyone based outside.

If you give the suburb or area where your property is located, someone may be able to help with an exact contact.

My experience is that the major agents (Hooker, etc) are all the same, ie reasonable, it is just a bit hit and miss if you get a good person dealing with you.

    Completely agree with that

Not sure I agree with this. There is quite a bit of evidence of unsavoury practises in the Aussie real-estate market, and I certainly sought out one of the Jenman group when we sold our flat there, as I wanted someone who would work to get the best price for ME and not just a quick buck for themselves. The Hookers of this world apparently dislike Jenman enormously for exposing some of the shady practices - which is a good enough reason to look them up!

I would recommend you read Jenman's books even if you don't plan to use one of their agents. There are so many tricks that agents play.

I think "Jenman philosophy" agents are okay for your run of the mill property. You save on costs for an otherwise pretty stock standard transaction.

However, they are usually small independents so if you're looking for some special (high end) clients you'll have go with the big boys. Also, the "Jenman philosophy" is just a way of doing things, it doesn't guarantee the agent is ethical or actually following the Jenman rules.

Hay all thank you, I have properties here in Australia and look for firms in HK and other major firms internationally to sell my properties. It sounds like you've all had a bad time with Real Estate Agencys here in Oz and I am sorry, there in some cases more Sharks on the land than in the water here.

I work inside a sector of Real Estate were properties do not show on the front face of Real Estate, I am a seeker and have house and land product all over Australia directly from developers. In essence I am seeking firms in the Overseas market that want product here in Australia and I will supply them with the stock. I would really rather have firms recommended to me. Thank you all for your valuable points thus far. Kind Regards Kiwi

    OH RIGHT.

You mean those people who advertise on the TV here in HK and try and sell properties to unsuspecting local HK'er for double what they would pay if they actually went into an agent in Australia - just because locals are SO used to expensive costs here that they don't realise how much cheaper something like that is overseas. NOW I got you. I won't try and help you with this endeavor.

Good Heavens MovingIn07, you have had a big bad time out there in Real Estate land, firstly I am not living in Hong Kong so I have no understanding of your televsion marketing programmes. So, like me you must believe that it is time for yor people in HK and throughout Asia to have contact and communication with an Ethical Agent? I went into Real Estate for the very reasons why you hate it, I saw a great need to ensure the protection and full disclosure of all dealings within the market, both here and in the UK market were I worked as a property broker. I am always honest in my dealings and provide full disclosure to my clients. I apprehiate you fed back and understand if this halts our communication. One thought as I sign off, if those sharks are there on the land in your country don't you think that its time for a change there? Kind Regards and all the best kiwi

People go into Real Estate purely for the money plain and simple.
You don't become a Real Estate Agent/Broker because you want to make the industry a better place.
