This isn't exactly for me, but I'm asking actually for a friend whom is moving down with me. Unlike me, he will not be able to obtain his permanent citizenship as he has no relations to Canada and is actually going down to continute his graduate studies alongside me at the City University of Hong Kong.
He was wondering, if he were to obtain a working visa (does he even need it if he has his student visa?), whether he would have to pay double taxes, for both Canada as well as for Hong Kong? I have connections for English teaching positions and he is highly interested in them, but if in fact, he would need to pay double taxes, than he may ultimately consider another position that would be more high-paying to compensate for his hours spent.
Any help is great. Any other useful information regarding this would also be quite helpful.
Kind regards!
