Taxes as a consultant to foreign companies

I'm planning to take up some consulting work for foreign companies this year. Does anyone know how I go about filling taxes in HK?

The consulting work would be done in Hong Kong. Do I fill this out under salaries tax? There's a section that says 'I received income from a non-Hong Kong company for my employment or services rendered in Hong Kong'.

Or would I list this under profits tax? Would I then need a business registration number?

The total income would be low, under the allowance so likely no tax is due. I really just want to keep it simple and make sure I fulfill my obligations.

    Any advice is much appreciated!

I believe you don't need to declare it at all. You can always call the tax department to clarify. They explicitly told me not to file a return when I was doing IT work for an offshore company.
