Post Paying Salaries Tax from the US

I need to pay the salaries tax from the US.

Can I send a US bank check with the equivalent amount to what is due (with a little more to account for currency rate fluctuation) in US dollars?

If not, what is the best way to send what is due? Thanks.

They will not accept a US$ check. Just like the IRS will not accept a HKD check.

How does Turbo Tax help someone in the US pay their HK tax?

Misread his original post. No. Turbo Tax is not his friend, but it is mine.

    The hk.gov website states this:

Crossed Cheque in Overseas Bank Account

You may send in your local currency crossed cheque payable to “The Government of the HKSAR”. Please write down on the back of the cheque the tax file number and Shroff Account Number of the tax bill you want to pay. The cheque and payment voucher should be sent to:
    The Commissioner of Inland Revenue
    P.O. Box 28282
    Gloucester Road Post Office
    Hong Kong

    What is a "crossed cheque"?

Telegraphic TransferUnder very special circumstances, IRD may accept payment by Telegraphic Transfer. Special arrangements may be considered according to individual circumstances. You may call (852)2594 3124 or 2594 3132 for enquiry or send your request with detailed reasons for our consideration. Your request should be sent by post, fax or email to:Postal address:5/F, Revenue Tower,
    5 Gloucester Road,
Wan Chai, Hong KongFax: (852)2519 0375
    Email: [email protected]
From the link that I posted above. Seems like Wire Transfers are an exception and not generally allowed.

Cant you get your bank to issue you a HKD bank draft as recommended?

I can try. I will contact my bank tomorrow (it is still Sunday night here in the US!).

    Thanks.
