declaring at customs at the airport

So I'm planning to purchase a luxury watch when overseas over CNY and am planning to use my HK issued credit card to do so. I imagine the purchase price will be approx 8000-10000USD.

So it a requirement to declare this item when I bring it in? If so, will I be taxed?
What is the consequence of not declaring, if I need to?

    Any advice?

    Thanks!

    Your options are

Declare, And pay any relevant duties.

Wear it and post the box and paperwork to your address and walk on through the green section.

    Your choice

I said any relevant, I.e if there was any payable.
Since there isn’t any it doesn’t matter.
